Q. Do you have a set of standard plans that you build?
A. No most of the plans we build are bought from an internet plan service and brought to us by our customers who choose the plan they get the style and feature they most desire.
Q. What type of windows do you generally use?
A. We like to use vinyl casements, which offer the best air seal at an economical price.
Q. What type of walls do you build?
A. We typically use 2x6 walls on the living area portion of our houses, this allows for more insulation in the wall cavity and greater overall strength to deal with Wyoming's climate.
Q. What type of insulation do you use?
A. We use a combination of spray foam and batt insulation in the walls. The foam seals all the cracks and the batt insulation increases the R-value, we use R- 49 blown insulation in the attic. The exterior walls are covered with wind and rain-proof building wrap to further seal the home.
Q. Are your homes engineered?
A. Yes, the plan company provides the first level of components that they specify in the house, we then have a structural engineer design the concrete walls and footings that the house sits on. The floor system and the roof trusses are also designed by an engineer. Combined this makes a modern house very strong.
Q. Are your homes inspected by an outside source?
A. Yes the City of Cheyenne and Laramie County WY. Both have a multi-step inspection process. This starts with the concrete footing and walls and progresses through framing, plumbing, heating and electrical from start to finish.
